Established over 15 years ago, Stackvision was formed with the idea of breaking out from the pack and delivering clients with the technology solutions they needed. As time and experience have forged ahead, we now fully appreciate that Business, Staff, Processes and I.T. are completely intertwined for all but the simplest of activities. As a result we are continuously adapting and evolving to provide our Customers with realistic and effective Business driven solutions, supported by the relevant technologies.
Business Sectors
Originally our background started in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods/Retail sectors. With experience of Major high street retailers and also software house / consultancy, where we understood the balance between Business demands and major software design/development and delivery. These early experiences were invaluable and provided Stackvision with valuable knowledge which we still refer to today.

Each sector has very different strategies and approaches but they all need to be constantly changing and striving for gains delivered by seeking out new business areas, deriving efficiencies from existing functions and technology and of course the desire to harness the best from the technologies available.
Requirements and Analysis
There is no substitute for applying common sense and clear thinking before rushing headlong into anything, after all; “If you don’t know where you are going, it really does not matter how you get there”…and so the need for clear requirements
At Stackvision we are experts at helping drive out your requirements and the continuous refinement of those requirements, managing them through the development process, be it via an Agile or Waterfall based approach.
These elements permeate through into your projects and determine what is built and delivered, and ultimately what benefits are yielded.
There is the ever eternal triangle fighting between scope, costs and time-scales. Difficult to control all aspects although Agile can bring a very practical approach to this.
Stackvision has working on projects ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand requirements covering the client’s internal teams and external suppliers.
Methods, Techniques and Tools
No one denies these are vital to harness the constant need for change and deliver business benefit as defined by the requirements. Over the last 25-30 years we have seen many of these come and go. Today’s “hot methods” are Agile, Six Sigma and Lean, however many businesses are still working with more traditional “waterfall” or structured methodologies. Many Businesses invested in CASE tools and we have expertise in Enterprise Architect, one of the more useful products on the market.
At Stackvision we have experience of a wide range of methods/techniques covering; Agile, Object Orientated Analysis and Design (OOAAD), Unified Modelling Language (UML), Structured Systems Analysis and Design (SSADM), Rapid Application Development (RAD) and more. Each of these has its merits and drawbacks but above all else they are methods/techniques and not a “silver bullet” or fix/cure for all circumstances. Applied correctly and at the right point in a project, there is without doubt, much to be gained from various techniques. You can benefit from our experience in these areas too.
